I recently had a friend share a formula she picked up for writing blogs faster. The process itself is pretty great since it forces you to be concise. You don’t have the opportunity to get lost in paragraph after paragraph. Instead, you’re forced to tell the whole story in the shortest way possible, then expanding on it to add more detail.

1) Tell me in one sentence — what are you going to write about? Just one sentence that sums up the entire tour.

2) Write out 5 sentences that tell the whole story, from start to finish.

3) Go back and add 2–3 sentences onto each of the sentences you’ve written in step 2. Only 2–3.

4) Proofread, edit, and format for posting

5) Post

If you happen to write some articles using this format, I’d love to see how they turned out. Please feel free to share them. You’ll also see this format in use through some of my articles.

Good luck and happy writing!
